I Slept With Dylan First!
I must have this Junk Food shirt. I'm not so much a t-shirt kinda gal, but this is an exception. Season 2 of 90210 is coming out very soon in May and even though I was about... seven or so when it did it doesn't matter. I've always thought I was born in the wrong decade. Anyway.
I love Luke Perry. Or more like Dylan McKay. Before he left the show and came back with a receding hairline. Who cares if Brandon has sparkling blue eyes (though they are quite pretty)? Dylan is so nonchalant about everything and drives a motorcycle! He's always held the key to my heart. And even though Brenda is supposed to be a bitch in real life, she's great with Dylan on the show (screw Kelly). Must have this! Available here along with several others.
(Look how good Dylan looks on the shirt!)

Random
This isn't actually something I've worn, but more of a product of boredom. I could see it as something suitable for work.
White button down - Express (a hand-me-down from my sistuh)
Black velvet vest - Guess
Cream/gold striped Cardigan - H&M
Black Skirt - H&M
Black tights
I have so many potential outfits and pieces in my closet that I never get the opportunity to put together and wear. One day I will live some fancy luxurious life with white Persian cats and Harry Winston diamonds and I'll go to balls (do people still have 'balls'? Like Cinderella style?) in fancy Vera Wang gowns. Someday.

I shouldn't...
...but I love Lindsay Lohan's Marc Jacob's shoes! I feel guilty because she's wearing them and I don't like to be associated with liking things with girls who let their flowershops hang out, but I really do like them. To redeem me, however, I did see them first on a model on the H&M website in white. I don't like her taupe colored ones, I prefer black or white (taupe washes me out), but they're lovely! I can't find them anywhere though! :(

Tights in California
New York
Is it okay to still be wearing tights in April in California? The days are sunny and warm with a chilly breeze every now and then, and I sort of feel like I can't wear them anymore. But I love tights. They seem so simple and forgettable, but they're so versatile and do so much to an outfit. I wish I were in New York, where fashion seems to go beyond just premium denim and sleeveless tops. It's more interesting, more unique. Or maybe I'm just jaded by west coast style.Photos from The Satorialist.

Cuz you're a New York City Boy...
Alexander McQueen
Back from NY, and what was intended to be a quick "nap" that ended in 8 hours of sleep and missing Top Model and Shear Genius. Must've been from the trip. Anyhoots, some of my favorite stores in NY are the obvious ones and less obvious. Here the top three (in no order):
1. JEFFREY - I love this store. The people are super nice and have you seen all of their shoes? Dsquared, Louboutins, Manolo, YSL, those Miu Miu Maryjanes a la Lindsay Lohan ad campaign, and more! The men (only seemed to be men working...) were really friendly and even "helped" pick out this silver minidress for me as a joke, since it required gigantic boobs which I lack. This was after I said a silver Balenciaga jacket would be too big for me (and of course, way too expensive).
2. OUT OF OUR CLOSET - Not quite sure if this is the exact name since I didn't look at the name of the store when entering or while in. It's a consignment store that sells tons of Birkins and other designer labels like Prada and every other big name for much, much cheaper. TONS of women's shoes for over 50% off retail. Sure they're used, but in great condition! Found a pair of turqouise Marc Jacobs shoes I liked, but unfortunately they were a size 5. I am not. Also found a tiny fuschia Balenciaga Le Dix bag that tickled my fancies. I wanted to come back, but no time!
3. MANOLO BLAHNIK - Since there are only two stores, how can you not go? And forget the selection of Manolos at Saks and Neiman Marcus and everywhere else you go, the store of course has the most! And THE best. Looking for those Sedarbys Carrie got stolen from her in "A Woman's Right to Shoes"? They're there! In silver, red, black, camo, and though I didn't see them, a white bridal satin. Tons of pretty shoes not sold in department stores. Tiny little brick store near the MoMa.

Too Much Skinny
I am sick of skinny jeans. Not completely sick of them, but sick of having only the choice of skinny jeans when shopping. I find I can only wear my skinny jeans with heels or boots, otherwise I feel stumpy and wide-hipped, and that's no fun. It's just everywhere I go, skinny skinny skinny. Shouldn't everyone who wants skinny jeans already have them? I haven't seen many wide-legged jeans in stores, except for a few of JBrands. I haven't tried them on yet. I'm afraid they'll be too overwhelming on my 12-year-old figure. BUT, Paige, one of my favorite jean designers, has some petite styles out. I tried on a pair of Laurel Canyons but I think I like them a bit longer, so I can cuff them up. By the way, if you have not tried on Paige jeans, you must. The rise isn't too high or low (on the Laurel Canyon), and the fit is perfect. They barely stretch out, and the cloth lining around the waistband makes them super comfortable. You cannot judge a pair of Paiges by photos online. The pockets aren't that fancy (although I do like the Las Palmas design), but the fit and comfort is enough to make up for lack of fancy details. A good bootcut beats a skinny jean any day.
